Elizabeth Dupree Moore

Elizabeth Dupree Moore age 86 of Erwin went to be with her Lord at her home on Monday, June 12, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 25, 1931 in Tarboro, NC. She was happily married for 46 years to former Erwin Mayor, Cecil Moore. She was a member of Erwin United Methodist Church where she had served as UMW Circle Chairman, UMW Treasurer and Sunday School Nursery Teacher. She was also a Girl Scout Leader, softball coach and delivered Meals on Wheels. Her favorite thing to do was to be with her family and working in her yard. Her personality was to always be so happy and fun loving. She really enjoyed life, made the most of it and always looked at everything with such a positive attitude.

Ms. Moore’s Visitation will be held one hour prior to her Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 pm. The Rev. Don Mitchell will be officiating the Funeral Service at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Erwin United Methodist Church. The Burial will follow at Erwin Memorial Park.
Ms. Moore is survived by two daughters, Debbie Ashley and husband Steve of Erwin and Lisa Lamari and husband Joe of Silver Spring, MD; three grandchildren, Tiffany Ashley of Erwin, Joseph Lamari, Jr. of Baltimore, MD and Charles Lamari of Olney, MD; two sisters, Peggy D. Murfee of Richmond, VA and Edith Sessoms of Dunn; two sister-in-laws, Elizabeth Parker and Patricia Capps both of Erwin; along with several nieces and nephews.
Ms. Moore is preceded in death by her late husband, Cecil Moore of Erwin; granddaughter, Heather Ashley of Erwin; parents, Allen R. and Bessie M. Dupree; brothers, Jim and Spencer Dupree; and sister, Margaret Glover.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Erwin United Methodist Church, 600 Denim Drive, Erwin, NC 28339.
