Dwight Culbreth Autry, 85, of Erwin, passed away at UNC Rex in Raleigh.
He was born on February 2, 1939 to the late Tasso W. Autry and Eva Holland Autry.
Dwight is preceded in death by his brother Hugh Autry.
He is loved and survived by his loving wife, Inez Stephenson Autry of Erwin; Brothers, Glenn Autry (Helen) of Erwin, and Wyman Ray Autry (Gayle) of Erwin; Step-Daughter, Kathy Stephenson of Savannah, GA; Step-Son, Al Stephenson (Paige) of Tifton, GA; 5 Grandchildren; 2 Great-Grandchildren; and nephews, Bryan Autry of Kernersville and Hugh Autry of Garner.
Dwight loved taking long trips on his motorcycle, camping, and bowling. He actively participated in the Senior Bowling League in Erwin known as the Lucky Strikers. He had a great sense of humor and was in good spirits even when dealing with his health struggles. He was also a proud retired volunteer fire fighter with the Erwin Fire Department.
A Visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church of Erwin on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 1:15 PM to 2:45 PM. The Funeral Service will follow at 3:00 PM.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Erwin Memorial Park.
