Vivian Ann (Giddens) Rose

Vivian Giddens Rose, 84, of Newton Grove, passed away at Rex Hospital in Raleigh on Thursday, March 28, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. 

Vivian was born on November 6, 1939 to the late Paul Giddens and Carrie Hobbs Giddens. 

She greatly enjoyed creating things by sewing and cooking. She also enjoyed the beach. 

Her family was very important to her, as she enjoyed taking her girls shopping, spoiling her grandchildren, babysitting the little ones for her family and always looked forward to spending time and gathering with her cousins. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Carrie Giddens; Brothers, Wade Giddens, Dave Giddens, John Paul Giddens, and Dewey Giddens; Sisters, Annie Lois McLamb, Evangeline Bradshaw and Edna Thornton; her husband, Joe Dan Rose and an Infant Son.

Vivian is survived and loved by her sons, Joe Mark Rose (Luanne) and Stephen Paul Rose, both of Newton Grove; Grandchildren, Carson Mark Rose (Kayla) of Newton Grove, Miranda Chambers (Travis) of Elizabeth City, Anna Mooring (Tyler) of Wilson, and Joseph Rose of Newton Grove; Great Grandchildren, Colton Rose, Mary Elizabeth Rose, Shepherd Chambers, Emma Chambers and Ivey Mooring.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 1, 2024 at Pleasant Union Christian Church of Newton Grove. Visitation will be held an hour prior from 1:00 – 2:00 PM. Officiated by Rev. Debora Stilley.

Mrs. Rose will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery of Newton Grove. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pleasant Union Christian Church.
