Sarah Ann (Smith) Horrell

Sarah Smith Horrell , 73, of Erwin passed away Thursday, April 5 , 2018.

The service for Mrs. Horrell will be held on Sunday April 8, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Sansom Community Church in Dunn, NC.   Visitation with the family will precede the service at 2:00 pm.  The service will be officiated by Rev. Turner Matthews and    Rev. Jerome Pope.  Interment will follow the service at Erwin Memorial Garden.

Sarah was born February 8, 1945 in Dunn, NC.   Her parents were Welton Smith and Vida Mae Smith. She worked as a Child Support Enforcement Officer until retirement in       .

Sarah enjoyed many hobbies such as cooking, sewing and working in the yard.  She enjoyed going to the beach and particularly camping.  But Sarah’s greatest love by far was her children and her grandchildren. Sarah was kind and loving to everyone she came in contact with and she was loved by all who knew her.

Sarah is survived by her son, Arthur Weeks of Willow Springs, NC, her daughter Beverly Oakley and husband David of    Emerald Isle, NC, her daughter Elaine Ellis and husband Condary of Dunn, NC, her step-son, Gary Horrell and wife, Winnie of Erwin, her step-daughter, Sheila Beasley and husband Ricky of Coats, her sister Belinda Sessoms and husband, Glendell “Bunky” of Erwin, NC, 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, C.J. Horrell, her mother, Vida Mae Smith and her father, Welton Smith.

Services have been entrusted to West & Dunn Funeral Home in Erwin.
