Mary "Peggy" Shelton

Mary (Peggy) Lee Shelton, 88 years old of Newton Grove, NC passed away peacefully in her home on Friday morning, Nov. 11th, and went to be with her Lord and Savior.  She was loved beyond measure by all of her family and friends and will be forever missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Ruth Coker Deaver; her son Forest Miller; her daughter, Judy Morris; three sisters: Ella Mae Irving, Eula Mae Holmes, and Ann Deaver, and three brothers: Herman, Charles, and Bobby Coker.

Surviving are her loving husband of 22 years, William Shelton of Newton Grove; Son Edward (Buddy) Miller and wife Annette of Dunn, NC: Daughters Jeanie Russell and her husband Eric of Falcon, NC; Peggy S. Lee and Fiancé Jeff Cooke of Calypso, NC; Jennifer Shelton of Lillington, NC; Regina Cimino and husband Mike of Linden, NC, and Rachel McCauley of Lillington. She is also survived by her sister Tempie Underhill of Mt. Olive, NC.  She also leaves behind 31 Grandchildren, 39 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.

Peggy loved spending time listening to the gospel and she loved to witness about her God to anyone who would listen. She loved feeding her special dog Daisy cookies and ice cream, which she did on a daily basis.

A visitation will be held Monday, November 14th from 6-8 pm at West and Dunn Funeral Home of Newton Grove, NC.  The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 15th at 2 pm at Blackman’s Grove PFWB Church, Dunn NC.  Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.
