Julian "J.L." Thornton

Julian “J.L.” Thornton, 80, of Dunn passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Maple Grove United Methodist Church. Officiating the service will be Rev. Walter Gaskins. Internment will follow in the Maple Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery

The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. at the church prior to the service on Thursday.

Mr. Thornton's survivors are his Wife, of 58 years, Sue B. Thornton of Dunn, a daughter, Christy Thornton Hall & Clint of Fayetteville, grandchildren, Brock Thornton, Thomas, Max, & Sawyer, sisters, Shirley Sinclair & husband Eric of Dunn & Evelyn Bridges & husband Pete of Clayton, brothers, Allen Thornton & wife Ann of Wake Forest, James Thornton & wife Kay of Garner, and Larry Thornton & wife Isabella of Germany, sister-in-law ~ Jeanette Thornton of Newton Grove, several nieces & nephews.

Mr. Thornton is preceded in death by:  Parents ~Royal & Nancy Thornton and brothers ~ Glenn & Jimmy Thornton
