Jimmy Newman Johnson

Jimmy Newman Johnson, 81, of Coats passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2018.  Mr. Johnson's funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 11:00 am.  The service will be held at West & Dunn Funeral Home Chapel in Benson with the Rev. Jason Hudson and Rev. Glenn McCullen officiating the service.  Mr. Johnson will be laid to rest at Devotional Gardens of Dunn.  Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 29 from 6 to 8 pm.

Mr. Johnson's survivors include sons, Tony Johnson and wife Monica of Coats and Scooter Gau of Coats; granddaughter, Jennifer Weaver and husband Steven of Coats; another granddaughter, Misti Merritt and husband Justin of Smithfield; great granddaughters, Melbiann Johnson, Campbell and Syndey Merritt; grandson, Colton Baker; sisters, Annie Laura Lee of Benson and Louie Belle McLamb of Dunn;  and brothers, Rock Johnson and A.G. Johnson both of Benson.

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his wife, Willadean Johnson; a son, Ricky Johnson; daughter-in-law, Melba Johnson; granddaughter, Jessica Johnson; parents, Archie and Eunice Johnson; and two brothers.

Flowers are welcome but memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
