Edward “Ed” George Faulkner Sr. passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021, at the North Carolina Veteran’s Home in Fayetteville. Ed was born on December 4, 1940, in Everett, Massachusetts to the late John and Edith Faulkner. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen.
Ed graduated from Everett Vocational High School with an electrical diploma. Shortly after high school, Ed enlisted and pulled two stints in the U.S. Army and 82nd Airborne, where he received the National Defense Service Medal, Senior Parachute Badge, Expert Infantry Badge, M-16 Expert Badge, and his honorable discharge in 1975 at the rank of Sargent. Shortly after his discharge from the Army, Ed met and married the love of his life, Helen. Shortly after, they relocated to Jupiter, Florida. Ed’s passion for electrical work took him to several large commercial wiring jobs. He was a Senior Project Forman for large projects such as the West Palm Beach V.A. Medical Center and the West Palm Beach Court House. Upon declining health, Ed and Helen moved to Erwin in 2005 to retire and be near family.
A Memorial Service will be held at West and Dunn Funeral Home Chapel of Erwin, NC on Friday, February 12, 2021, beginning at 1:00 pm. Rev. Billy Keith will be officiating the service.
Ed is survived by his sons, Edward Faulkner Jr. of Daytona, Florida, and Douglas Faulkner of Marion, North Carolina.
