Debra Carol (Groves) Hales

Ms. Debra Carol Groves Hales, 56, of Benson, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.  

Debra is survived by her three daughters; Leslie Grove of Benson, Danielle Cherry of Benson, and Morgan Brittany Williams and husband, Aaron, of Wilmington, four sisters; Evelyn Weber of Michigan, Brenda Gooch and husband, Bob of Swansboro, Connie Pounds and husband, Lawrence, of Clayton, and Donna Barnes and husband, Tommy, of Angier, three brothers; Ray Groves of Dunn, Dalton Grove and wife, Louise of Virginia, and James Groves and wife, Ann, of Clayton; a sister-in-law; Judy Grove of Raleigh, and four grandchildren.

She is predeceased by four sisters; Leslie Mae Grove, Verna Mae Grove, Wanda Kennedy, and Denise Avila; and four brothers; Woody Grove, Claude Groves, Owen Grove, and Jerry Groves Elliott, III.

A visitation will be held at Family Worship Church of Smithfield, Sunday, December 5, 2021, from 1:30 p.m until 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Lawrence Pounds will be officiating the service.
