Mary Emma Carter Tart

Mary Emma Carter Tart, 93, passed away Thursday, March 01, 2018 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center in Wilmington, N.C. with her loving family by her side. Ms. Tart lived her entire life in Newton Grove until failing health required her care to be provided by Dayspring of Wallace Assisted Living and Brian Center Health & Rehabilitation of Wallace where she made many memorable friends. Her funeral service will be held Sunday, March 4th at 2:00 PM at West & Dunn Funeral Home Chapel in Newton Grove. She will be laid to rest in Hillcrest Cemetery, Newton Grove. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, March 3rd from 6 till 8 PM.  Officiating will be Rev. Frank Sandy,  Rev. David Walker and Rev. George W. Price. 

Ms. Tart is survived by several nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Stockton Tart, her parents Albert and Mamie Carter, Five infant siblings, sisters Lou Ina Holland and Celia Edna Weeks and brothers Maylon Hansel Carter and Arrel Emmons Carter.
