Shirley Raynor Williams Baker, age 86 of Willow Spring, passed from this life into eternal life on Friday, July 9, 2021. Born April 17, 1935 in Dunn, she died from dementia in her home surrounded by her daughters.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of twenty years, Royster Baker and first husband of twenty-six years, Wayne Williams. Also, preceding her in death were her parents Moses Fulton and Lila Mae Raynor, grandson Byron Cherry, and sister Helen Williams.

Shirley is survived by her four daughters Angela Sessoms, Phyllis Holroyd, Cindy Dunlap, and Carla Herring, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and brother, Mike Raynor.

Entertaining family and friends, cooking, music and dancing, creating comfort and beauty in her home and gardens, travels with family and friends, sewing and crocheting filled her life with joy. In her quiet time, she enjoyed reading her Bible, devotionals, and the News and Observer.

As owner of Henry’s Café and The Fairest Orchid Family Care Home, she dedicated her life to serving others through her delicious meals, gracious hospitality, and beautiful smile.

Shirley was an active member of Maple Grove United Methodist Church and former member of Fuquay-Varina United Methodist Church. She was a member, and served as Worthy Grand Matron of the Mingo Chapter of the Eastern Star.

Services will be held Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Maple Grove United Methodist Church, 784 Maple Grove Church Road, Dunn, with visitation at 1:00 pm followed by the funeral and burial services beginning at 2:00 pm.

Her daughters’ would like to sincerely thank her church family, Amedisys Home Health and Hospice, as well as, Lilies of Hope Home Care services for all of the excellent care and support given to our mother and family during her time of need. Much love and gratitude to Mrs. Judy Strickland for her unyielding dedication to caring for our mother, her loved pets, and family.

Memorials may be made in Shirley’s name to Maple Grove United Methodist Church or Fuquay-Varina United Methodist Church, 100 S Judd Parkway SE Fuquay-Varina, 27526.
