Franklin Lee Best, 73, of 30 Crow Best Road, Mt. Olive, passed away May 7, 2022 at Rex Hospital. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 2:00pm. The service will be held at Pleasant Union Christian Church in Newton Grove.
Frank was born in Sampson County on October 4, 1948 to the late J.C. “Crow” Best and Rachel McCullen Best. He attended Hobbton High School and NC State University and served in the army. He worked with USDA for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sherry Best; daughter Lori Best and fiancé Steve Jara; daughter Leann Bradshaw and husband Charlie; sister Betty Lou Griffin; seven grandchildren: Haley, Hannah, Dallas, Kara, Sara, Charity, and Calista.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Faye Theis; and grandson Matthew Brogden.
