William Carlton West

William Carlton West, age 63, of Dunn passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, January 5, 2026 following a battle with kidney cancer. Known to family and friends as Tommy, he was a man of few words, but was full of love for those he held close. Tommy had a love for an open windy road and the water. He found joy in riding dirt bikes, Harleys, and fishing whenever he could, especially from a pier or along the beach. His children were the center of his world, and he showed his love in the ways he knew best: cooking delicious meals, giving thoughtful gifts, and being silly. Tommy worked hard and loved even harder. A man of many talents, he explored life with curiosity and skill, from scuba diving to playing drums and guitar, knife making, and cooking. Tommy leaves behind not just memories, but pieces of himself in everyone he loved and everything he touched.

Tommy was born in Harnett County, NC on September 5, 1962 to Betty Lou Reeves and James Chester West, Jr. He is survived by his mother Betty West, wife Angela West, son and wife Thomas and Hope West, daughter Jessica West and step-daughter Samantha Jones. 

A memorial service celebration in his honor will be held at a later time. Please contact the family if you would like to attend.
