Shelly Delynn Pittman, 47, left her earthly life together with her fiancé, Travis Ryan Ferguson,
49, on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, while doing what they both loved – riding their motorcycle.
Shelly leaves behind a daughter, Cassidy LuAnn Williams, 13, of the home; her mother, Velma
Pierce Jones, and stepfather, Ronnie, of Four Oaks; her father, Cecil Pittman, and stepmother,
Patricia, of Pink Hill; her brother, Cecil Pittman, Jr., and wife, Deanna, of Pink Hill; stepbrothers,
Steven Harper, Jason Harper, and Adam Jones; stepsisters, Amy Brown and Cheri Barefoot;
nephews, Macon Pittman, Mason Harper, Gavin Tripp, and Riley Harper; nieces, Marley Pittman
and Annason Harper; beloved aunt and second mother, Brenda Pierce Basden of Willow Spring;
and many cousins. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Herman and Etta Pierce and Lucy
and Alph Pittman.
Shelly grew up in Pink Hill, moved to Texas as a teenager, and eventually settled in the Raleigh
area with her fiancé, Travis. She graduated with an Associate’s degree in Medical Office
Assisting in 2013. She loved her family, never lacked for friends, and took in many stray animals
due to her compassionate nature. Shelly loved fiercely, offered endless support to many, cared
deeply and fully for those she loved, and lived every single moment of life with full intent and
without hesitation. Her greatest passion in life besides caring for her daughter was enjoying wind
therapy on her motorcycle with the love of her life. She also enjoyed cake decorating, road
tripping, fishing, camping, and watching her brother play drums in his band.
A celebration of life service will be held at West and Dunn Funeral Home in Benson, NC on
Sunday, July 16 th , at 2:00 pm.
