Ronnie Gene Jones

Ronnie Gene Jones, 74, of Four Oaks, passed away at his home on Friday morning, June 28, surrounded by his loved ones.  

Born in Harnett County to his parents, Fred and Janet Moss Jones, Ronnie went to NC State University and studied Engineering.  As a engineer, he worked in the communications industry and did government work.  An avid shopper, Ronnie loved to shop and would most of the time be the one that would exit stores with numerous bags while Velma would sit and wait and get left holding the bags, literally!  He loved watching the various cooking programs on the Cooking Network and loved to travel and go places, prompting him to purchase a motorhome which he wanted Velma and he to travel. 

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Velma Pierce Jones; a brother, David Jones (JoAnne); sisters, Carol Fisher (Ray) and Kathy Johnson  (Gary); a son, Adam Jones; 2 daughters, Amy Brown and Cheri Barefoot; and 3 grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at West & Dunn Funeral Home Chapel of Benson on Monday, July 8, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation to follow.
