Rodney Gene Yerk

Rodney G. Yerk, 80, of Erwin NC died Aug. 17, 2022.  He was the husband of the late Ethel M. (Steiner) Yerk for 54 years before her passing in 2015. Born in Allentown, PA he was the son of the late Martine (Gerhab) and John Yerk.

A 1960 graduate of Allentown High School and a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force, he worked at Lehigh University and enjoyed classic cars, riding his motorcycle, and his American Eskimo dogs.  He enjoyed traveling and was captivated by Arizona where he lived for several years.

He is survived by his daughters, Sherri Yerk-Zwickl and her husband William and Christy Yerk-Smith and her husband Kent, and four grandchildren, Meghan and Gregory Zwickl, Kiera and Kevin Smith.

A private service will be held.
