Randy Lee Godwin

Randy Lee Godwin, age 64, of Coats, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026. He was born on March 5, 1962 in Harnett County to his parents, the late Clifford “C.J.” Godwin and Joyce Stone. In an addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his aunt; Louise Williams.

He is survived by his brother; Michael “Mike” Godwin (Patricia) of Coats. Nieces; Amanda Keefer (Russ), and Kayla Creech (Jason). Great nieces; Savannah Keefer, Elizabeth Keefer, Adalade Creech, and Amelia Creech; one great-nephew, Ivan Creech. An aunt; Ann Gregory, and an uncle; Dick Stone.  

Randy worked at Wayne Lee Towing for thirty one years as a career tow truck driver.  He enjoyed being on his golf cart, handing out pens advertising Wayne Lee Towing and also candy.  He never met a stranger and was known as a local legacy.  He would drive many miles and help anyone in need.  He enjoyed drag racing and flying drones.

Services will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at the Dunn Funeral Home of Erwin located at 904 Lucas Street in Erwin, NC.  Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm, with Funeral at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Coats City Cemetery in Coats, NC at 150 S. Patterson Street.
