Quannah Hegwood Lee

Quannah Hegwood Lee, affectionately known as Quinn to her friends and loved ones passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025 in Oxford, North Carolina after a long battle with dementia. Quinn was born on September 10, 1936 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to parents, Ernest and Audrey Hegwood. She grew up in Texas with her parents and her brother, Lloyd. As an adult, Quinn moved to northern VA where she worked as an insurance claims adjuster for USAA.

While living in Virginia, Quinn met the man who would become her husband. She married Kirk Lee on December 1, 1973 and they made their home in Fairfax, Virginia. On October 29, 1976 they welcomed their only child, Michael Lee. She and Kirk moved to Benson, North Carolina, back to his childhood home in 2000 and began attending Hood’s Grove Baptist Church. Quinn was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, a loyal friend, and a faithful follower of Jesus. She was an active church member and enjoyed singing in the choir while at Hood’s Grove. She spent her last several years living closer to her son and his family first in Wake Forest and then in Oxford, North Carolina.

Quinn is survived by her son Michael and his wife Missy and her three grandsons; Mason and his wife Jamie, Martin, and Marshall Lee.

The family will be having a Celebration of Life service on Monday, June 23, 2025 at Hood's Grove Baptist Church at 11:00 AM.
