Morris Dean Blackman

Morris Blackman, beloved father, brother, grandfather, and partner, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at the age of 69. He was born on September 16, 1956, in Johnston County, North Carolina, to Lexie and Gladys Blackmon.

Morris’s life was defined by love, laughter, and an infectious personality that drew others close. He adored his family and friends beyond measure, cherishing every moment spent together. Morris found joy in playing golf, grilling, relaxing at the beach, Elvis Presley, beach music, country music, and creating memories with those he loved most.

He is survived by his son, Dean and wife Andrea, and their four children, Andrew (17), Alex (13), Nicholas (12), and Lydia (10); his daughter, Natalie and husband Brent, and their two children, Brent II (13) and Christopher (11); and his twin brother, Horace and wife, Lou Ellen and his step daughters Jan, Joy, Paige, and Michelle and her husband, Chris and all their children; He is also survived by his fiance, Daphne, and her children, Katie, Meghan, Cameron, and Kimberlyn.

Morris was preceded in death by his parents, Lexie and Gladys; his brothers, Jerry and Dennis; and his nephews, Barry and Chris.

Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of kindness, humor, and devotion lives on in the hearts of those he touched. We take comfort in knowing that Morris is now in the arms of our Heavenly Father, embraced by eternal peace.

Morris’s celebration of life will take place on October 5, 2025 at Lees Chapel Advent Christian Church at 4154 NC South, Four Oaks, NC. The family will receive visitors in the church from 2:00pm to 3:00pm with the service immediately following at 3pm.
