Having lived a long and fruitful like, Mary Stancil Lee died on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the age of 93. Mary was born in Harnett County, NC to the late John William Stancil and Lessie Barefoot Stancil on April 16, 1932.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Mack Lee: daughter Gail Lee Jordan; brothers OV, David, and Walter Stancil; sister-in-law: Rachel Williams.
In 93 years of life, Mary was a friend to everyone, found the positive, and a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. The love, devotion, patience, and kindness she shared was an example to all who witnessed it.
Mary grew up in Benson, NC and graduated from Benson High School in 1950. Her biggest joys in life were her family, friends, and helping anyone at work and in her community. She worked at the Newton Grove First Citizen’s Bank over 40 years. After retiring, she missed interacting with people, so she went back to work for Wellons Realty in Dunn, NC answering phones and greeting people. The perfect job for her at that time.
Mary is survived by her sons: Russell Mack Lee Jr. and Barry Newton Lee and wife, Sandra and their daughters, Taylor and Parker; son-in-law: Tommy Jordan and wife, Becky; grandchildren: Kevin Jordan and wife, Jennie and his son, Nathan and Lee Jordan and wife, Miranda and their children, Leigh-Anna, Emily, and Carter; brother-in-law: Rodney "Bill" Williams and his daughters Robyn McChensey (Bill) and Rene Beavans (John) and their families.
Mary was a member of Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Her life was, indeed, full and her course on this earth is now complete. There are no formal services scheduled at this time.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation for the compassionate care provided by everyone at Rolling Ridge Assisted Living and Gentiva Hospice Care. We cannot say enough about their love and care for our mother.
Dunn Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mary Stancil Lee.
