Martha Taylor Obituary

Martha Smith Taylor, 93, passed away on February 7, 2026, at Liberty Commons in Benson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete Royal Smith and Glendon Lockamy Smith; a brother, James “J.D.” David Smith; a niece, Glenna Smith; and husband, Warren G. Taylor

Martha will be remembered for her cooking skills. She made the best cakes and pies, especially coconut and chocolate flavored. She loved a fruit cake the best. In her earlier years, she enjoyed helping Warren on the farm. She was a hard worker. She spent a lot of time enjoying gospel music, having her friends visit, and she loved taking care of stray cats. Martha loved her church and enjoyed participating in church activities, especially involving cooking.

Martha is survived by her nephews James Mark Smith (Jennifer) of Garner and Curtis Dale Smith (June) of Calabash.

She is also loved by many other family members.

The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Randall’s Chapel PFWB Church. Funeral Service will immediate follow at 2:00 PM.
