Joseph “Mark” Bryan passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends at his home May 22, 2026. Mark was a lifelong resident of the Newton Grove community and one of the founding members of the Newton Grove rescue squad which he volunteered with for over 23 years. He grew up at the “home place” working with his parents on the family farm. After college, Mark married his high school sweetheart, DeLena Williams Bryan and began a farm of his own. He later went on to manage and operate Williams Sand and Gravel for 17 years before he returned to farming and worked for Warren Farming Company. He grew up attending Pleasant Union Christian Church and after marriage became a lifelong member of Hopewell Methodist Church. Mark had many hobbies that he enjoyed, including golfing and hunting. He loved watching sports and played softball for many years when he was younger. Mark had a deep love for his family, the community that he lived in, and the land that he worked. He had a deep faith that he shared with those around him. Mark never met a stranger and formed many deep friendships that have lasted for decades.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Luby and Ada Gold Bryan; his brother, Neal Bryan; and his sister, Jill Bryan Gonzalez.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years DeLena Williams Bryan; three sons, Bryson (Amanda), Morgan (Camaron), and Dustin (Nancy Jo); grandchildren, Parker, Cooper, Sophia, Sarah Gray, Kinsley, Eleanora, Liza, Joseph, David, Caleb, and Nathan Bryan; his sister Juliana Moore and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and countless friends.
