Lela Jean Baker Jackson, 87, of Newton Grove, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Rolling Ridge Assisted Living in Newton Grove.
She was born on June 26, 1936 to the late Albert and Pennie Baker.
Mrs. Lela was extremely passionate about gardening, she had a flourishing garden with a variety of flowers. She also was a talented piano player. She loved solving crossword puzzles and completing word searches. She was known as a very sweet woman who loved her family.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, Donnie Carol Jackson; son, Phillip D' Carol Jackson; and Brother and Sister-in-Law, James and Jennette Baker.
She is survived and loved by her sister, Faye Baker Carr and many nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Hillcrest Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Debora Stilley.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Rolling Ridge; you were family to Mrs. Lela and the hugs, songs, and love were greatly appreciated.
