Laura Elizabeth "Lib" Lee

Laura Elizabeth "Lib" Hobbs Lee, 73, beloved wife of the late John Lee of Newton Grove, was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

Ms. Laura was born June 6, 1952 in Sampson County and was a lifelong resident. She had worked for many years as a seamstress in the textile industry before her retirement. She enjoyed Elvis, she was his number one fan.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law; John “Jakie” Lee, Jr. and his wife Angela of Garland and Kevin Lee and his wife Leslie of Newton Grove; her 4 grandchildren, Alyssa Kornegay and her husband Justin of Clinton, Jake Lee of Garland, Joshua Lee and his wife Valerie of Garland, and Devin Lee of Newton Grove; her great-grandson Dallas Lee of Garland; her siblings, Kathy Johnson and her husband Tony, Eddie Hobbs and his wife Phyllis, Ronnie Hobbs and his wife Janet all of Newton Grove; her sisters-in-law, Ila Hobbs of Newton Grove and Barbara Aman ; her brother in law, William "Pud" Lee and Monica of Newton Grove. Besides her husband John Lee, she was proceeded in death by her parents Boyd and Lauretta Hobbs, and her brother Gerry Hobbs.

Visitation will be on Sunday, February 22, 2026 from 2 to 3 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home of Newton Grove. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. followed by burial at Hobbs Family Cemetery.
