Joyce Thornton Tooley

Evelyn Joyce Thornton Tooley, 86, of Dudley, NC (formerly of Newton Grove), passed away at Wayne Memorial Hospital on Saturday, August 31, 2024. 

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 4 at 11:00am at Hillcrest Cemetery, US 701 South, Hobbton Hwy., Newton Grove, NC.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; Emmett and Lessie Jackson Thornton; sister, Annie Laura Denning; and son, Billy Graham Warren.

She is survived by her sister, Gail Thornton Ashby and husband, Tony of Four Oaks; daughter-in-law, Geri Warren; and granddaughter, Tiffany Warren; nieces, Kimberly McLamb and Phyllis Thornton; nephews, Joey Wilson, Ken Ashby, Kevin Ashby and Leo Denning.  Joyce worked as a seamstress for Southern Sewing Factory in Clinton for over 30 years.  She enjoyed dancing and loved to have a good time.
