Joy Parker Langdon, age 75, of Oak Island (formerly of Newton Grove and Coats) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 25th, surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Joy is the daughter of the late Sherman and Nora Parker. She was predeceased by her brothers, Sherwood Parker and Gary Parker, as well as her sister, Glenda Parker Langston, and her nephew Bobby Langston, Jr.
Left to cherish her memories are her sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Bill Harrington of Oak Island: sister, Gale Davis-Smith of Dunn: here "little sister" Janet Langston Barefoot (Mike): her nephews, Parker Oliver (Tana), Ward Parker (Amber), Mike Parker: nieces, Dale Marshburn (Corbitt), Dean Rogers (Robby), Samantha Butts (Harold): her special great nephews: Grady Oliver, Easton Jernigan and Walker Jernigan.
Her funeral service will be held Sunday, March 1st. at 2 p.m. with a visitation from 1 - 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Dunn Funeral Home, Newton Grove, N.C.
Memorials in memory of Joy may be made to the SECU Hospice House, 955 Mercy Lane, Bolivia, N.C. 28422 and are greatly appreciated.
