Johnny Jay Lee, 55, left this life and went to be with the Lord, on February 10, 2023. Born at Betsy Johnson in Dunn, the son of the late James Donald and Naomi Lee, paving the way for his twin sister, Bonnie.
Johnny was an excellent cook and a construction man specializing in sheetrock. Johnny was a member of the Fire and Rescue team at Coats Grove for a number of years. Johnny was a caring and loving father to Amber Sills and Callie King despite the fact that situations were given to him in this life, Johnny loved the Lord and tried to be what He wanted.
Johnny is proceeded in death by his parents, James Donald and Naomi Lee, sisters, Judy Godwin (Wayne), and Hazel Alicia (Jose), and survived by Shirley Whittman (James), Ruth Ross, Ray Autry (Robin), Bonnie Shifflett (Pete), and a numerous amount of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at West and Dunn Funeral Home of Erwin from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A funeral service to honor the life of Johnny will follow at West and Dunn Funeral Home Chapel of Erwin beginning at 2:00 pm. Rev. Eddie White will be officiating. Interment to follow at Erwin Memorial Park of Erwin.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Durham Rescue Mission.
