Jimmy Ray Matthews

Jimmy Ray Matthews, age 71 of Linden, formally of Buies Creek, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025, at his home. He was born in Harnett County on August 5, 1953 to Clifton and Ivey Matthews.

Jimmy was a diesel mechanic at John Deere, where he retired in 2018. He enjoyed being a mechanic, weekends at the lake, sitting by the pool and spending time with his family. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Ivey Matthews, sister, Brenda Jones, brother ,J.C. Matthews, and nephew, B.J. Jones.

Mr. Matthews is survived by his wife, Kim Matthews of 29 years, daughter Michelle Beasley of Buies Creek, son T (Emily) of Lillington, daughter Nicki (Steve) of Linden; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also brother, Roy Lee Matthews (Brenda) and sister, Carolyn Martin (Cameron).

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday January 18, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Community Center in Linden located at 9447 Market Street, 28356.
