Janice (Moore) Nicely

NICELY, Janice Moore, formerly of Henrico, Virginia passed away at home on September 12, 2024, following a brief battle with cancer. Surrounded by her loving family in her final hours, they celebrated Janice by sharing treasured memories and humorous stories.

Survivors include her daughter, Laura-Jane Corkran and her husband David; grandchildren Donna and Zachary Owen; extended children Penny Ruel, Donna Bean, Christy Horton, Michael Metz, and Elaine Payne and her wife Kim Denmark; brother Buddy Moore and his wife, Cathy; brother-in-law, Daniel Walker; nephew Tommy Moore; nieces Hollie Yarbrough and Danielle Spradlin and her husband Will; and a host of great-nieces and -nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Brian Nicely; loving parents Woodrow and Doris Moore; sister Charlotte Walker; loving companion Butch Wrobleski.

Gregarious and loving by nature, Janice never knew a stranger and joyfully welcomed everyone into her life. Her generosity touched each person she knew, and she was never too busy to lend a hand, an ear or even a shoulder. A life-long lover of animals, Janice also welcomed a menagerie of dogs and cats into her home and heart. She will be sorely missed. 

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, November 2nd at 1:00 PM at Christ Church Episcopal, 5000 Pouncey Tract Rd, Glen Allen, Virginia.
