Gloria (Burdi) Ryals

On the morning of September 20th, 2021, Gloria Burdi Ryals passed away peacefully in her sleep with her beloved and faithful husband by her side. Her funeral service will be held Friday, September 24, 2021, at West & Dunn Funeral Home, Erwin, N.C. at 11:00 a.m. and will be officiated by Rev. Greg Ray. The family will receive family and friends on Thursday, September 23rd at West & Dunn Funeral Home of Erwin, from 6 till 8 p.m.  She will be laid to rest in Erwin Memorial Park, Erwin, N.C. following the funeral service. 

She was born on June 8th, 1953 to Louis and Alease Burdi. Growing up in the Chicago area, she found the love of her life in rural NC, whom she married in 1972. While she wore many hats in life, she took pride in her greatest role as a mother to her beloved only son and grandsons. She was a mother figure to many. She retired in 2014 as office manager from the dental office of Townsend and Townsend. She gave her best in everything she did and found her joy in making those around her happy, especially her family. Those that were privileged to know her would say that she made the world around her sparkle.

She leaves behind her husband of 49 years, Terry Ryals and son TJ (Bethaney), and grandsons Cambridge and Asher; mother Alessa Burdi; sister Anna Craig Burdi; brother Tony Burdi; brother Louis Burdi along with several nieces and nephews. Gloria is preceded in death by her father, Louis Burdi.
