Glenn Burge Obituary

At 87 years old, Glenn Low Burge, of Hope Mills, NC went to his heavenly home on Thursday, February 12, 2026. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. Glenn was a faithful man who loved the Lord, his family, and his friends. He grew up around the Clinton area. As a teenager, he was baptized at The First Baptist Church in Clinton, NC.

Glenn enlisted in the Air Force and served 4 honorable years in the late ‘50s. He shared stories of his time in Greenland and Iceland serving his beloved country. Glenn found his passion working in the auto body repair field where his skills were admired by his customers and co-workers. Glenn, along with Barbara, loved to spend time at their second home in Surf City. He lived with an open-door policy and loved to host family at the beach. He loved to fish, and spent many hours surf fishing and casting a line from the dock and boat. Glenn also loved to watch NASCAR races, and loved the memories formed with family when attending races.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Cober Burge and Dorothy Carter, sister, Joyce (Chuck) Wilkinson, brothers, Jack Burge and Trent (Mary) Burge, and daughter Carol Jean. He leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Barbara Burge of Hope Mills, a son, Scott Burge (Elizabeth) of Wilmington, a sister-in-law Jeanette Haynes of Raleigh, and a brother-in-law Kenneth Westbrook (Martha) of Newton Grove. He also leaves behind 4 grandchildren, Bret Horne of Asheville, Robin Williams (Marcus) of Magnolia, Texas, Candice Krasuski (Steve) of Smithfield, and Alis Burge of Wilmington, and 2 great grandchildren, Glenn and Silas Krasuski of Smithfield, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The service to honor and celebrate Glenn’s life will be held on Thursday, February 19th, 2026, at Dunn Funeral Home, 503 Raleigh St. Newton Grove, NC 28366. Receiving of friends will be held at 10 a.m., and the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Grandview Memorial Park, 2809 US 421 Clinton, NC 28328.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be given to Mary’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church - 2311 Keener Rd. Clinton, NC 28328.
