George Albert Johnson, Sr.

George Albert Johnson, Sr., (83) Was born on the 29th day of September 1939 to Gertrude Thornton Johnson and George Aaron Johnson. At the young age of 12 Albert took over the duties of caring for his family when his father became ill. Albert spent around 48 years farming.

He met the love of his life, Frances in 1958, they married in 1960. They have built a life with there two children, George Albert, Jr. and Angela (Johnson) Flowers.

They founded Taste of Heaven Campground of Newton Grove, N.C. in 2006. There they have touched many lives with the Taste of Heaven Ministries. On the 9th day of February 2023 Albert left his earthly home to join Jesus and began his Heavenly bliss.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Tracey Kevin Johnson.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Frances Johnson, son George Albert Johnson, Jr. and wife Cynthia Johnson, daughter, Angela Flowers and husband Rodney Flowers. Their grandchildren: George Albert Johnson, III and wife Amy Johnson, Allison Nichole Flowers and Anna Grace Flowers.  Great Grandchildren: George Aaron Johnson, Alyssa Lyn Johnson and Ashlyn Lea Johnson.

The family will receive family and friends at West & Dunn Funeral Home, Newton Grove on Saturday, February 11, from 6 till 8 P.M. His funeral service will be held Sunday, February 12, at 2 P.M. at the Taste of Heaven Campground. Burial will follow in the Johnson Family Cemetery. Pastor J. T. McCardo and Pastor Paul Conley will officiate the service, with special speaker Ricky Lee.
