A beloved member of the Linden, NC community, Gayle Byrd Parker passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025 at the age of 77 years.
Born Lessie Gayle Byrd in Harnett County to the late Ralph and Frieda Byrd, she is also predeceased in death by her husband, Jerry Lynwood Parker; siblings Leda Byrd and James Byrd; brother-in-law, Danny Parker and sister-in-law Linda Byrd.
She is survived by siblings Ralph Byrd Sr. , William C. Byrd (wife Joyce), Penny McCormick (husband David), Connie Cook and sisters-in-law Joan West and Debbie Byrd. She is also survived by her daughter, Lori Parker Scott, her son, Jerry Lane Parker, and her grandson Matthew Parker (wife Honesty), granddaughters, Aubrey Hardie (husband Marquis) and Bailey Parker, three great grandchildren Caiden, Augustus and Emersyn, and a multitude of beautiful and handsome nieces and nephews.
Gayle was a devout Christian and loved spending time reading her bible and watching movies that explored the themes of faith, God and love. The example she set for her children and grandchildren by always trusting and believing in God and His plan regardless and in spite of any adversity she faced was a true hallmark of her love for her family.
Gayle was an avid, always ready shopper. Not just any kind of shopping - Gayle loved CLOTHES shopping! Gayle had her own unique style and also loved color. And when Gayle combined those two loves, the result was an absolute Kaleidoscope!! It is safe to say that most of Gayle’s friends and family alike have a delightful story or memory of some “colorful” outfit she donned.
Gayle was an exceptionally resilient, unique and special woman who will be so very missed by her family. However, her family is rejoicing in the fact that she is now finished with her natural life here on earth and has the promise of eternal life with her father, God.
Please join her family in the celebration of this beautiful Christian woman at Dunn Funeral Home at 904 Lucas Street Erwin NC 28339.
