Elsie Glen (Hayes) Dudley

Ms. Elsie G. Dudley, age 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 20, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones  at Goldsboro Rehabilatioin and Healthcare Center, Goldsboro.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Dudley; a son, Sammy Dudley; her parents, Sam and Alice Hayes; and two sisters; Dorothy Smith and Dixie Hoskin. 

Elsie leaves behind to cherish her memories, two sons; Dail Dudley (Patty) and Glynn Dudley (Toni); three grandchildren; Bobby Dudley (Anna), Lynn Sutton (Nathan), and Cody Dudley (Brittany); and seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Daisy Tyndall; and a brother, Lester Hayes (Billie); a "special" daughter, Wanda Ginn, and a "special" niece, Shirley Thornton, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends that she loved dearly.

There was nothing that brought her more joy than making home-made biscuits and rolling out pastry.  She loved cooking and watching folks eat.  One of her cherished joys was teaching Toni how to make biscuits.  To know Mama/Aunt/Mrs. Elsie was to love her.

Her funeral service will be held at West & Dunn Funeral Home Chapel, Newton Grove on Thursday, August 24th at 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 till 7 p.m. just prior to the Funeral Service. There will be a private family burial on Friday, August 25, 2023.
