Elizabeth (Strickland) Pate

Elizabeth Strickland Pate, age 85, of Erwin, NC passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025.

She was born on November 16, 1939 in Harnett County to her parents, Fred Erastus Strickland Sr. and Elma Louise Lucas.

Ms. Pate is survived by her sons, Kenneth T. Ray, Jr. and Tommy J. Ray.  Also her daughter in law and full time caregiver, Regina Ray. 

Elizabeth faithfully attended Antioch Church of Erwin all of her life and her mother was instrumental in helping to start the Antioch Church. Her occupation was in healthcare and worked at Good Hope Hospital in Erwin until it closed.  Taking care of others was her specialty.  She also enjoyed cooking, flowers and tending a garden.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to he Liberty Hospice Nurse, Dena Joyner, and caregivers, Keisha Parks, Shakara Melvin, Connie Knowles, Iris Taylor for all of the loving care they provided during her illness.

Services will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025 at the Dunn Funeral Home of Erwin located at 904 Lucas St, Erwin, NC  28339. Visitation will be at 11:00 am, funeral service at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel, Pastor Wesley Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in Dunn, NC at 908 S. McKay Avenue.
