Douglas William Lee went to be with the Lord on January 24, 2020. Doug was born November 12, 1954 to James William and Marveline Lee in Johnston County.
Doug was a lifelong farmer, fireman and served as a Commissioner on the Johnston County Soil & Water Conservation Board for 10 years. Doug enjoyed helping other farmers, landowners and the community with various projects and endeavors. He was an avid history enthusiast.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Marveline Lee; and sister, Sharon. He is survived by his significant other, Gwen Carter, sister Ann L. Ennis and husband Gary; brother Donald and wife Laura; nephew Len Ennis and wife Jennie; niece Kathryn E. Hudson and husband Chris; and nephews Garrett and Hunter Lee; great nephews Graham and Garron Hudson and great nieces Kaylee Ennis, Hannah Ennis and Kate Hudson. In addition, he is survived by his aunt, Mary Lou Parker and uncle, T.W. Lee and wife Regina and family friend, Luis Perez.
Service will be held at Blackman’s Grove Baptist Church in Four Oaks on Sunday, January 26th at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Hicks, Rev. Rodney Wilson and Pastor Michael Courtney officiating. Visitation will follow after the committal service.
