Dorothy Mae (Strickland) Miller

Ms. Dorothy S. Miller age 92, of Warrenton, N.C. passed away at Maria Parham Hospital, Henderson, N.C. on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 with her loving family by her side. Her graveside service will be held Sunday, June 11th at 2:00 p.m. at Pauline Baptist Church Cemetery, Four Oaks, N.C. Officiating will be the Rev. Steve Grice.  She wanted this to be a celebration of her life, she asked that anyone that attends to please come in colorful clothing. 

Left to cherish her memories are her son: James Thomas Miller and wife Donna Hicks Miller, daughter: Donna McComsey. Grandchildern: Scotty Miller and wife Kristin, Penny Miller Langley and husband Michael. Three great grand children and five great great grand children. Her siblings; J.D. Strickland, Evelyn Ostendorf, Jennings Strickland, Linda Strickland, Peggy Burton and Loree Harris. 

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband; James Oliver Miller, parents; John Thomas and Ora Powell Strickland. Her brother; Arthur "L.A." Strickland and her granddaughter, Lisa Self.

Dorothy was a Christian Lady never without a smile. She loved doing crossword and number games and loved to read. In her younger days she enjoyed gardening and canning. She was always a helper to anyone in need and enjoyed visiting others in the rest home. She was known as a walking Angel on Earth.
