Dora Ellen (Westbrook) Monk

Dora Ellen Westbrook Monk, 84, of Newton Grove, passed away Wednesday night, December 20, surrounded by loved ones.  

A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton Grove at 11:00AM.  A Rosary Sevice will be at 10:30AM, also at the Catholic Church.  Viewing will be available at West and Dunn Funeral Home from 8:00-9:30AM on Tuesday.

 

Dora Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Almond and Melba Barefoot Westbrook of the Meadow Community; her loving husband, Patrick Eugene Monk; twin brother, Donald Westbrook; older brothers, Graham and Sherrill Westbrook; and son-in-law, Rick Harrison.

 

Left to cherish her memory are brother, Dan Westbrook of Yuma, AZ; daughters, Genia Harrison and Amanda Monk of Newton Grove; Beverly McDonald and husband, Mac, of Charlotte; sons, Patrick Monk and wife, Lori, Kevin Monk and wife, Wendy, of Newton Grove, Jeffery Monk of High Point; Grandchildren, Camille Barfield and husband, Josh, Rachel Harrison, Emily Harrison, Christian Talbert, Zachary (Bud) Harrison, Evan Batchelor, Jake Batchelor, Samantha Monk, Garrett Monk, Kaitlyn Jackson and Everette, Nicholas Monk, Mason Monk, Quinlan Rackley and Samatha, Joanna Rackley, and Paitlyn Turner, Dora Turner, and Reid Turner; seven great grandchildren; and many neices, nephews, and cousins she adored; the Class of 1957 and her church family that held a very special place in her heart.

She was an inspiration to those who knew her and a role model to her grandchildren.
