Carolyn Sutton Burch

Carolyn Sutton Burch, 75, of Clinton, MS passed away April 22, 2021. She graduated from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC and had a career spanning many years in preparing taxes. She was a devoted member of Central Presbyterian Church in Jackson, Mississippi until it closed. She then joined Fondren Presbyterian Church in Jackson where she served as a member of the Session, taught Sunday school for many years, helped in the nursery and served on many church committees.

Carolyn is survived by her mother, Lib Sutton, three siblings, Jim Sutton (Janet), Les Sutton (Carole), Beth Craver (Dow); aunts, Frances Johnson and Kitten Sutton, and many nieces, nephews and extended family.  

Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Troy Sutton, grandparents, Harvey and Mattie Mashburn and George and Pauline Sutton. 

A memorial service was held at 3 PM on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Fondren Presbyterian Church in Jackson, MS.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 2 PM, Monday, May 3, 2021 at Unity Presbyterian Church in Newton Grove, North Carolina. Officiating will be the Rev. Cathy Mooney.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Fondren Presbyterian Church, 3220 Old Canton Rd, Jackson, MS 39216.
