Our loving daughter, sister, and friend Candy Lynn Stanley passed away unexpectedly at Moses Cone Hospital on April 8th, 2025. Candy was 27 years old and was born at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield. She most recently resided in Greensboro, NC. Candy underwent an emergency open-heart surgery for aortic dissection that ended up spreading to her brain.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Beasley; her father, Anthony Stanley; her spouse, Michael Napier; two younger sisters; Savannah and Alexis Stanley; her grandmother, Diane Autry (Troy Autry); and her great grandmother Mary Hill.
If you knew Candy, you know that she cared about people and she overcame every obstacle thrown in her path. She obtained two Associate degrees from Johnston Community College in Smithfield, a Bachelors in Philosophy with a minor in Pre-Law from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and her Paralegal Licensure from Guilford Technical in Greensboro. She loved animals, especially cats, music, arts and crafts, and the mountains. Please help us in remembering the immense joy and light she brought to all of our lives. She is already so missed. How would she not be though, being the person she was?
Candy’s visitation will be held on Saturday April 12th, 2025 at 1:30pm at Dunn Funeral Home in Benson with the service following at 3pm in the funeral home chapel. We will then travel to Melvin-Autry (Mack Autry) Family Cemetery in Roseboro.
Please join us in celebrating Candy’s life and sharing the love and joy she brought to all of ours.
Arrangements are being handled by Dunn Funeral Home of Benson.
