Brenda Kay (Vann) Naylor

Ms. Brenda V. Naylor, age 79 of Roseboro passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at WakeMed Healthcare, Raleigh, N.C. surrounded by her loving family.  Her graveside service will be held Saturday, October, 30th at 2:30 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Shady Grove OFWB Church Cemetery, Dunn, N.C. The family will receive family and friends at West & Dunn Funeral Home, Newton Grove from 1 till 2 p.m. prior to the graveside service. Officiating will be Rev. Freddy Langston.

Left to cherish her memories is her son: Kenneth Naylor and wife Jo Ellen, daughter:  Angela Naylor Carroll and Arnold Gary, grandson: Joshua Andrew Carroll, granddaughters: Allyson Holly Naylor and Lindsey Elizabeth Naylor. Sister: Joan Tew and husband James. Two special grandsons: Alex Baldwin & Gabriel Dill. Also, several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents: John Henry Vann, Sr. & Lossie Royal Vann, husband: Harold Wayne Naylor, two brothers: John  Henry Vann, Jr. and James Chester "Dobbie" Vann. Two sisters: Mary Catherine Vann Daughtry and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Vann. 

Brenda loved her church and was a member of Roanoke Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.  She  loved to travel, having visited the Holy Land on a number of occasions.  She was a strong-willed woman who, in her youth, played high school basketball and had a "killer" hook shot.  In her later years, she loved spending time rocking in her rocker on the front porch.
