Bobby Ray Jackson, 81, of Roseboro passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
He was born on March 8, 1944 in Sampson County to the late O.C. Jackson, Jr. and Beatrice Honeycutt Jackson.
Bobby is also preceded in death by his sister Mary Gray Wooten.
Anyone who knew Bobby knew that he was a hard worker. He loved to work and enjoyed being outside. If he wasn’t in the house, you would find him on his tractor. He loved telling stories, even if he had already told it to you, he’d share it again. Bobby was a man full of knowledge, if you wanted to know something, go see him, he would likely have an answer for you.
Bobby was a member of Mt. Elam Church and throughout his life would take on many roles, such as a Sunday school teacher, deacon and he was even a Sunday school superintendent for a while. The church was a huge part of his life, and he would make sure that all his kids went to church.
He was a huge supporter of his family. He made sure he was able to cheer his kids on at their ball games. In his later years, he was also his wife’s caregiver. He loved his family very much. He was well loved not only in his family, but also in his community.
Bobby is survived and loved by his wife of 56 years, Geraldine Hairr Jackson of the home; children, Wendy Jackson Quann of the home, Bobbie Jo Cooper and husband Thomas Cooper II of Bolivia, Wesley Jackson and wife Charlene of Roseboro, and Gerald Ray Jackson of Roseboro; grandsons, Zachary Craig Jackson of Red Springs and Charles Wesley Jackson of Hope Mills; sister, Peggy Fischer and husband David of Colorado; and many nephews.
Bobby is also unconditionally loved by his partner in crime, faithful companion, guard dog, and best friend, Russ.
He will be greatly missed.
