Bobby Ray Dixon

Bobby Ray Dixon, 65, of Smithfield N.C. passed away at UNC Johnston Health surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday morning, January 5, 2025.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Dunn Funeral Home, Inc. of Benson. Visitation will take place prior to the funeral at 1:00 P.M. Burial will be held at Hills of the Neuse Cemetery in Smithfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Alma Dixon; sisters, Brenda and Ann Marie; brother, Melvin Dixon; niece, Felicia Dominguez; brothers-in-law, Dee Lloyd Radford, Danny Baker and Jerry Baker.

Bobby is survived by his sisters, Jannie Radford of Wilson Mills, Kay Baker of Four Oaks, and Dorothy Baker of Four Oaks and Brother, K.B. Dixon (Susan) of Wilson Mills.

He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Bobby loved fishing and watching television shows such as Gunsmoke and Dog the Bounty Hunter. He loved Oreos, Tootsie Rolls and collecting M & M cars. He loved jets and spent a lot of time flying. Bobby helped create People First and loved attending the group meetings. He also met with the governor and all over the state to support his cause for the importance of mental health. He was a very caring person, and he will be greatly missed.
