Bobby Blake Daughtry, 75, of Faison, North Carolina, passed away on May 17, 2024. Bobby was born on October 16, 1948, to the late Shelton and Lucille Daughtry.

Bobby loved family and being- BaBa. He truly valued the closeness of his family.

He was a lifelong resident of the Suttontown community and a devoted member of Goshen Methodist Church. He was known for his infectious smile, signature laugh, storytelling abilities, and his prized 1955 red Ford truck. Bobby never met a stranger and always brought joy and laughter to those around him.

Bobby was a 1966 graduate of Hobbton High School.  He continued his education at NC State University, where he studied agriculture and food science. Bobby served his country in the United States Army from 1969-1971. He was deployed to Vietnam, where he served with distinction as a Specialist 5th Class. Bobby often assisted on medical helicopters in war zones.

Upon returning home from his tour of duty, Bobby completed his education and for several years grew tobacco and produce on the family farm. He then began sales in the food service industry, and eventually focused on sweet potato distribution. He pioneered the exportation of sweet potatoes to international markets. He recognized the tremendous untapped potential of this unique regional crop and set out to share it with the world. With his infectious charisma.

Bobby established friendships with people on all corners of the globe. He had a knack for connecting with others and leaving a lasting impression on those in his industry and home alike.
