Bobby S. Barefoot

Bobby S. Barefoot, 86, of Topsail Beach, NC, passed away on September 27, 2024. Born on January 16, 1938, to Willie and Leola Barefoot (Parker), Bobby was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose impact on his family and community will be deeply missed.

Bobby was preceded in death by two older brothers, Donald and Ovalee, and two younger brothers, Ronald and James Earl. He graduated from Newton Grove High School in 1956, and his dedication to service led him to join the Army National Guard and Reserve, where he served from 1955 to 1963.

In 1959, Bobby married his high school sweetheart, Tilma Faye Naylor. Their 55 years together were filled with love and partnership until her passing in 2014. Together, they raised two children, Kenneth (Nancy) and Tina (Mark), who were the pride of his life.

As a grandfather, Bobby cherished his six grandchildren: Kasey (Ryan), Hayden, Anna Grace (Heath), Parker, Collin, and Blake; and two great-grandchildren, Watson and Ayla Faye.

Bobby was a lifelong mechanic and tinker-er, known for his ability to fix anything and everything. He had a passion for building furniture, crafting birdhouses, and growing vegetables in his garden. His meticulous nature and detailed-oriented approach to life made him an exceptional role model for his family. 

Above all, Bobby was an amazing husband, father, and friend. He accomplished anything he set his mind to, and his legacy of hard work and love will continue to inspire all who knew him. We are profoundly proud of all he achieved and even prouder to call him Daddy.

An intimate graveside service to celebrate Bobby’s life will be held on September 30, 2024 at 2pm at Hillcrest Cemetery in Newton Grove, NC.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).

Rest in peace, Daddy. Your love and guidance will forever remain in our hearts.
