Bettie Dorman Ryals

Bettie Dorman Ryals, 81, of Erwin passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Betsy Johnson Hospital surrounded by her loving family. 

Bettie is preceded in death by her mother, Lexie Odell Dorman and a son Steven Chandler Ryals.

She is loved and survived by her husband of 62 years, George Ryals of the home; son, George Anthony of Erwin; daughter, Anita McNeill (Dennis) of Erwin; son, Don Ryals; grandchildren, Bryan Ryals Tran (Eric), Daniel Ryals (Danielle), Derrek Ryals, Sierra Braunsberg (Vince), and Zack Ryals; great grandchildren, Holland, Chandler, Kaylen, TJ, Kaydence, and Grayson.

Mrs. Bettie was a special woman. She was a fine woman who had her ways and she would not hesitate to tell you like it is. She was a strong willed and passionate woman. Bettie was extremely passionate about her career as a police dispatcher, she dispatched for Erwin, Benson, Campbell College and Dunn. She was kind hearted and would always help anyone in need. She loved to take in strays, whether they be cat, dog, or human. She cared deeply for others. 

Please join us as we remember Ms. Betty Ryals.  A time of visitation, fellowship and celebration will be held on Saturday, December 14th, 2024 from 3 to 4 pm at the Dunn Funeral Home, 904 Lucas Street, Erwin, NC  28339.  Prayer and remarks will follow at 4pm also at the Dunn Funeral Home of Erwin.

The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at the home of Anita and Dennis McNeill at 338 Country Spring Lane, Erwin, 28339.
