Benny Gay Barefoot

Benny Gay Barefoot, 65, of Dunn passed away surrounded by his loving family on November 7, 2023 at UNC Chapel Hill.

A Graveside service will be held Friday, November 10, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Harnett Devotional Gardens in Dunn.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie B. Barefoot and Martha Evelyn McLamb Barefoot, a sister, Edna Barefoot Parker, and a brother, Timothy Dewayne Barefoot.
He is loved and survived by a sister Evelyn Faye Gregory, and brothers Johnnie Ray Barefoot, and Michael Shane Barefoot (Deanna).

Benny was very independent, kind, patient, and caring. He was one of the most giving people and he would find people to take care of. Benny was the caregiver for his mother until her passing, as well as his sister, Edna until her passing. He also cared for his brother in law, and multiple others. He was always willing and determined to give a helping hand to anyone in need.
