Ashlyn Dori Barefoot

Ashlyn Dori Barefoot, 33, of Raleigh passed away on Monday April 4, 2022 peacefully at home, spending her final days with her loved ones.  Born and raised in North Carolina, Ashlyn was a proud alumna of NC State University and loved her wolfpack!  Ashlyn loved life, followed her heart, and chased her dreams.  She moved to New York to pursue a career in sport management, working for New York Red Bulls and Getty Images. After several years, she relocated to the west coast to grow in her job. Ashlyn had many passions including music, reading, movies, theatre and concerts.  Always having a zest for life, she loved to travel the world, visiting places such as Croatia, Italy, Germany, and Iceland (where she was able to see the Northern Lights!)  She was a devoted daughter, sister, friend and dog-mom to Ziggy.  Ashlyn loved to travel with her Mom or spend quiet evenings with her dad, Sheila and her brother on the family farm.  Ashlyn was a loyal friend; always lending a listening ear and putting the needs of others before her own.  She had beautiful blonde hair, a comforting smile and gentle nature.  If you were having a bad day, she would make you "dance it out" to make sure those she loved laughed.  When a person like Ashlyn is in your life, it's difficult to paint a picture of her impact within a few short sentences.  Just know that her heart was pure compassion.  She always made people feel loved and important.  She saw the best and wanted the best for everyone.  Those who had the privilege of being loved by her know that Ashlyn was a "once in a lifetime" person. Her bright smile, kind soul and big heart will be greatly missed. 

Ashlyn is survived by her mother, Dori Barefoot; her father and stepmother Jimmy and Sheila Barefoot and her brother Brooks Barefoot.  Ashlyn had a stepsister, Jenna Rogers and two step-brothers, Derek and Chris Wallace.  Also surviving is her Paternal Grandparents:  Carlton and Snowdean Barefoot.  She was preceded in death by her Maternal Grandparents:  Ted & Fran Barnett. 

All friends and family are invited to the Celebration of Life that will be held at White Lake Grand Regal Venue, 1879 White Lake Drive on Sunday, April 10, 2022 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
