Annie Porter Obituary

Annie Mae Tanner Porter, 79, of Erwin, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2023.  She was born in Clinton, NC but lived most of her life in Erwin, NC.

Annie worked in spinning and winding at the cotton mill in Erwn for 10 years.  Afterwards, she worked at the Erwin Mart for 30 years.  Annie was an avid reader and loved to play games, especially card games.  But her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Livie and Ila Mae Gautier; her husband, Robert Porter; a son, William "Will" Porter; a sister, Shirley Johnson; and a brother, Jerry Gautier.

She is survived by her sister, Peggy Thornton; a brother, Earl Gautier; her daughters, Pamela Bayles and Carol King; her sons, Freddy Gautier and Charles Weaver; her grandchildren, Crystal McLeod, Mark Chadwick, Crystal Bayles, Robert Gautier, Bobbie Jo Bayles, Freddy Beasley, Craig Gautier, Terra Tackett, Nicole Estle, Corissa Howington, Charles Weaver, Jr, Alexa Weaver, Little Will Porter, Maddie Mae Porter, Jaxon Porter, and Kyle Porter; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Graveside and Burial will take place on Sunday, November 5th at 2:00PM at Erwin Memorial Park Cemetery.
