Alease McGill Burdi

Alease McGill Burdi, age 90, passed on to her heavenly home peacefully on Saturday, June 8, 2024, in Chicago with her daughter at her side.  Alease was born on March 3, 1934 and lived in Erwin, NC in her younger years, but married a young military fella, Louie Burdi, and relocated to Chicago, Illinois shortly after.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Neil Archie McGill and Annie Mae McGill, baby brother, Neil Archie, and her daughter, Gloria Ryals.

Ms. Burdi is survived by her children: son, Tony Burdi; daughter, Anna Burdi; and son, Louis Burdi.  Also, eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Alease loved fashion. She was an impeccable dresser and had a keen eye for fashion trends.  She was a social butterfly, often lunching with friends. She loved the ocean, enjoyed flowers and gardening, and exercise.  As a veracious reader, she loved going to the library, and would often get ten or more books at one time. 

Her influence extended far beyond her wardrobe, touching the lives of many with her warmth and creativity.  She will be remembered for her vibrant personality and her zeal for life.  She leaves a legacy of elegance and passion forever that is very cherished by the family she so dearly loved. She will be greatly missed.
